Uniden PC-122 wanted
Hi All,
I am looking for a Uniden PC-122 to put in my boat, its small compact and has SSB on it, so since my boat is small I don't want a big CB unit taking up lots of space.
See You
Bruce

CB in a boat
Hi All,
I want to experiment with CB radio gear in my Jet boat, I am not sure if I will get from the local river back to my house, I guess only one way to find out.

Back on air
Hello All,
After a break of some 20 years from NZ CB radio scene, the Internet, married, 2 kids and a trip to Japan to live for a year I decided to see what was happening now.
My name is Bruce and my call sign of 20 years back was CH833 I believe this call sign has not been used by anyone else so I have taken to opportunity for nostalgia to use it again
I jumped on to trademe and bought a tiger 140 and antenna, the Antenna is rough and the working tiger 140 did not work very well at all, it has 3 bands or which the crystals for 2 bands have been removed, tracks were cut around the PLL chip to try an make it do 26MHz of only a few channels it did, so all and all it was useless, an email to the guy I bought it off as you gathered returned no reply at all. As usual I got done over by a trademe person.
After some 20 or 30 hours, more than what it is worth it is is now on the 27MHz band and working well. Power set to 4watts AM and SSB was approx 10watts PEP.
I have been gathering some parts now, I picked up a better antenna and mounted it to my fence, I know it should be a min of one half wave length above the ground in a perfect world.
I have made contact with Dave 820 in Spreydon and Keith in Spreydon, I didn't get Keith's call sign

Uniden Grant XL left NZ 26MHz and Tiger 140 USA 27MHz
Antenna mounted on the fence. Is it straight?
